About Dr. Cindy May
Dr. May received her Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of California, Davis, graduating with honors. After an initial career in the biological sciences, she went on to earn her doctorate in clinical psychology from The Wright Institute, a leading institution that confronts social justice issues. Dr. May has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings providing intensive psychotherapy for children and adults. She has worked with at-risk youth transitioning from the criminal justice system, families experiencing generational trauma, and with veterans providing assessment and treatment for PTSD and substance addiction. After extensive work in community settings providing therapy for marginalized youth, she chose a concentration in child psychology.
